Service Pack 1 Setup Error: atapi.sys in use !!!

Hi,

I still get this error message while trying to install Service Pack 1 for
Windows XP Pro:

"The file c:\windows\system32\drivers\atapi.sys is open or in use by another
application."

"Close all other applications and then click Retry"

1. First I thought the problem was with Nero burning software which I just
used... so I rebooted... problem remained.

2. Then I thought daemon tools was causing the problem... I disabled that
and rebooted but the problem remains !

Currently I am out of ideas except for deinstalling daemon tools but I think
that's a bit drastic step !!!!!

So first I am going to google to see if anybody else has this problem.

(The cd rom drive is a plextor drive... I dont know if that has anything to
do with it)

Are you sure you want to install SP-1 since SP-2 has been out for many
months?

In any case, follow the Service Pack Installation Checklist:

With obvious differences if you still want to install SP-1.
