Hi
We're trying to install Service Pack 1 to FRESH installs of Windows
Server 2003 Standard Edition (twice on the same server plus also on a
Virtual Machine) but we keep getting an error:
"Setup cannot copy the file msvidcts.dl_."
"Ensure that the location specifed below is correct..." (it is)
On previous attempts this has also happened with msscpl.dll and
mqsnap.dll.
If we hit Cancel the setup asks if we really want to continue with the
install and skip this file. Upon confirming that we do want to continue
it tries it again with the same error as above! If we cancel a second
time the setup cancels, uninstalls and reboots the server.
The relevant lines in svcpack.log are as follows:

======
We have tried various different downloads of the SP1 executable. We
have also tried extracting the files first (using the /x:<path> switch)
then running update.exe.
We've also tried using Windows Update that just refuses to even get
started (we thought there might be a dependency on a previous hotfix
but Windows Update just goes straight to SP1).
This error also occurs before installing antivirus software (VirusScan
Enterprise) and after installing antivirus software (both leaving it
enabled AND disabling it).
This is driving us mad. Any suggestions most welcome!
