Service Pack 2 doesn't install

im using winXP pro SP1. some days back i downloaded Service Pack2 from
windows update but didnt install that. unfortunately a day or two after that
my pc was infected by W32/pate.dam viruses and blaster worm. i scanned my
system for viruses and that deleted some of my system files. after that i
re-installed winXP SP1. now whenever i go to windows update, it shows that
i've downloaded SP2, but when i click on install button, it fails to install
that.

what should i do now?
