service pack 2 download problems

Ever since I downloaded service pack 2 my windows installer can't be found
and my system continually locks up and I have a hard time even browsing, I
have tried to find a download for windows installer but my system won't stay
online long enough to download anything.

Please help

XP is shipped with Windows installer. You do not need to download it. Try
to unregister and register the Windows Installer again by using the
resolution - method 1 at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/319624/en-us
