Service Pack 2 Failed to Install

I have been trying to install SP2 for some time now and the automatic updater
has been doing it for the last year. This is directly from the log of the
updater:

I have no idea what to do from here, FAQs hasn't helped nor has talking to
anyone I can a hold of, so if you can please recommend this

Did you try the steps in the Resolution that is in the MSKB article
referenced in the portion of the log that you posted?

Error message: Windows has detected that one or more protected core system
files (kernel) on your computer have been modified
