Service pack 2 not being able to restart.

After sucessfully installing service pack 2 on my computer it tells me to
restart my computer.After doing this my computer will not let me get into
windows xp,it just keeps taking me to the screen where i can choose safe
mode.on top of the screen in safe mode it says"microsoft(R)windows
xp(r)(build 2600.xpsp-sp2-rtm.040803-2158:service pack 2).i then restore my
computer.Can anyone tell me why my computer will not restart after installing
service pack 2?
