Service Pack 2 PROBLEM-Please Help

I just wiped my computer clean, and reinstalled the original Windows XP.
After getting my internet, modem, and moniter drivers, I went to the Update
site to bring XP up to speed. When I finally got to the Service Pack 2
update, it stalled in the middle of the download. Then when I restarted the
update, It downloaded successfully, and even went through most of the
installation, but it has stalled again, right at "Finishing
Installation-Performing Cleanup". What is going on? How do I get it to stop
stalling and fully install? I've been waiting nearly an hour at this point,
and the progress bar hasn't moved at all.
