I have installed and uninstalled service pack 2 three times now and each time
I install it, it seems to cause graphical gliches in games and mess up the
video feed to my monitor at random intervals causing the screen to go black
untill a restart making using the computer almost impossible to use while sp2
is installed. I have a asus p4p800 motherboard, Ati radeon 9800 pro and, one
stick of hyperx 512mb ram if you need more info to analise the problem just
ask. I would also like to know if anyone else is having this problem.

Have you tried using the latest windows XP drivers from the hardware
manufacturer?
Especially video and motherboard drivers?

I have the same problem. Random. Several people have suggested that SP2
screws up drivers, various people have mentioned usb mice, sound card
drivers, and CD-DVD drivers. Try re-installing video driver.
I haven't fixed mine yet, but don't know how to re-install drivers
because the program keeps saying I don't need new ones since I have the
latest version and it's "working fine."
But it's not working fine.

Got one suggestion today that seems to work so far. Uninstall the
Windows file indexing service through the Add/Remove Programs -
Add/Remove Windows components. And make sure it's all gone.
(check task manager for instances of cidaemon.exe)
