service pack 2 - unable to download

HI EVERYONE
CAN ANYONE HLP ME? PLEASE...
IHAVE THIS COMPAQ ANDAM JUST TRYNG TO DOWNLOAD SERVICE PACK 2, BUT EVERYTIME
THE FOLLOWING ERROR CODE COMES UP:

[Error number: 0x8DDD0018]

I HAVE TRIED ALL THE SUGGESTIONS THAT WINDOWS GIVE BUT STILL WONT WORK..

You may receive an error message that contains the "0x8DDD0018" code or the "0x80246008"
code when you try to download updates from the Microsoft Windows Update Web site or from
the Microsoft Update Web site

The Automatic Updates Service starts and then stops automatically
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555336


Make sure that you have automatic updates turned on.

Make sure that the Remote Procedure Call Locator is not disabled:
Click Start, select Run and type in:
services.msc
Locate " Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Locator".
If it is disabled, then right click on it, go to 'Properties', change to 'manual' and
Apply.
Try Windows Update Again

You receive a "Windows Update has encountered an error and cannot display the requested
page" error message when you try to install an update

BTW, why are you trying to download SP2 now, do you know SP3 is now available?

I don't why the original poster is trying to download SP2 but I would need
to slipstream SP2 to my WinXP Gold before slipstream with SP3
