Hi All!

I have a problem with the update for service pack 2. I seem to have service
pack 3 already and the auto update keeps alerting me to download and install
service pack 2. Is this possible? Should I delete 3 then download 2
followed by 3?

Thank you so very much!
Stacie

Are you certain it's XP SP2 that listed and not
a service pack for one of your applications like
possibly MS Office.

It says XP SP3

So, it could be for office or something? The update says "Security XML
coreservices 4.0 service pack 2 (KB954430)"

This is on my pastors computer so it takes a minute to look up this info.
) Thank you so much for helping us.

It tells you exactly what it is for in the text you quoted and it is not for
Windows XP itself.

Where it has troubleshooting tips under the section titled, "Known issues
with this security update"

Is it repeating?

This security update may repeatedly appear in the update list on Microsoft
Update or on Windows Update if one of the system files is corrupted or if it
has not been updated correctly. For more information about this issue, click

jesus,

why so coplicated?

download the standalone updater and run. u will be ask if u want to modify,
remove or repair. remove it. will remove the 100 times installed update.
then run
once again. u will be ask if u want to install it. install it if neccessary.
then
hide the update in the update center. (tested on x64 Vista Ultimate).

i think the solving way for xp for dummys would be the same way above but
before start, deactivate the win update temporaly.

This procedure leaves your machine vulnerable. You need to solve the problem,
not hide it.

Harry.
