Service Pack 3 is failing to install. It seems to be missing a file PRO.MSI,
which must be on the installation CD. The problem is I don't have the CD
with this file on it. Is there another way to get this file so that I can
get this service pack installed?

The service pack 3 that I am refering to is for Microsoft Office XP. I have
tried some of the troubleshooting from the web site, but so far it does not
appear to be working. The last office update that I have on my computer is
office10.

Service Pack 3 is trying to load from the automatic dowload from Microsoft,
but it fails every time. It started to try and download this the end of
January. It seems to be missing a file PRO.MSI that is on a CD. The problem
is my CD is in Michigan and I am in GA so I do not have access to my CD. Is
there a way to fix this without the CD?

I have tried 2 of the methods to fix this problem, but so far not successful.
I keep getting a message that the file PRO.MSI is on a CD. The problem is
the CD is in Michigan and I am in GA. Is there a way to get this service
pack installed without this file or is there some kind of work around to get
this service pack installed?

KB304498 suggests downloading/installing the "fullfile" installer:

1. Open your browser to
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...1-eb966bcdfb5e

2. Scroll down to the very bottom of the page & use the Download button for
"OfficeXpSp3-kb832671-fullfile-enu.exe"

3. Save the file to your desktop, do not Run it!

4. Close all open applications (anything with a taskbar icon) and
double-click on the saved file to install Office XP SP3.

5. Now check-in at Office Update & install any other updates needed:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/do...incatalog.aspx

If you have any further problems, post to this newsgroup instead:
