I currently have service pack 3 with XP (version 2002). Verizon is telling
me I have to have service pack 4. I am not having any luck downloading this.
Is it even possible to upgrade to SP 4?

Tell Verizon that there is no such thing as a Service Pack 4
for Windows XP.

Are you talking about Office XP (Office 2002 ) ??? SP4 I believe is available only
for Mac with Office 2002 and not for Windows

What issues are you having that Verizon feels would be resolved by
installing this spurious SP4?

As of today [April 14th], Win XP went into extended support for the next
[roughly] 5 years. That means SP3 will be the final SP as extended support
generally offers only security updates for downloads. No WMP12. No IE9 [when
out]. No new Defender.

You were probably speaking to someone at Verizon who shouldn't be in tech
support.
