How important is it REALLY to buy "back-up" software, in addition to the
"importance"of backing up my system before I download the servicepack CD.
Can't I just install the damn thing?

How important your current installation is for you? Will
it take LONG time to re-install everything if something
goes wrong? Does it matter to you having to re-install
everything again? If yes, "imaging" software is important
for you. If not, just go to the movies while SP2 is
installing.

Kitty;
It may be easier to have a special application to back-up important
data, but not essential.
However it is always essential to have current back-ups of all
important data, not just during updates, but all the time.
You can simply copy all important data to a CD or another hard drive.

Just install the damn thing. That's what I did. No problems.
