Hi. A sort one.

Does (as an example) .net framework 2.0 SP1 superceeds 2.0?
[same for the others].

I know 2.0 doesn't superceed 1.0 [with or without service packs].

Thanks

Service Packs are service packs. Basically you have Framework 2. Then there are service
packs released. They do not replace the original Framework only update. Hoping that makes
sense.

Service Packs contain bug fixes (or improvements). Can't have bug fixes for
a products that don't exist.

[and to John]

But some times they do incorporate the service pack in a release (as in
Windows Sharepoint Services 3.0 SP1 has it incorporated or separately.
Virtual Server and Virtual PC have full editions with a SP as well).

Isn't it a bit strange that SP1 is around the same size as the RTM?

Sure, why not.

Not really. It could be smaller if they remove a whole bunch of codes :-)

Efficient coding? Get real!

I heard of someone analyzing that leaked Win2K source code and was shocked
of the bloatness.
