Error Code 0x8024002D. I too have an error code problem, it keeps asking me
to insert a disk which I don't have or ever had. Any suggestions?

Can you be a lot more specific about what you are actually trying to install
(type in the name of the package you are trying to install as you see it -
all of it, type in the error message as you see it - all of it, type in the
name of the disk it is asking you to insert as you see it, verbatim...)

You are asking a generic question without any details given. It will be
difficult to answer and anyone answering will be assuming a lot.

- What operating system? (Windows XP? (Home, Professional, Media Center,
etc? SP1, SP1a, SP2 or SP3?) Windows Vista? Service Pack 1?)
- What are you doing to get the message you are getting?
- What is the specific words of the error you are getting?
- What is the specific name of the disk you are being asked for?

Also - just to be thorough:
- What antivirus application do you use?
- What antispyware applications have you used?
- What are the general specifications on your computer? (Name brand, CPU
speed/type, amount of memory/RAM, hard disk drive size and free space,
etc...)?

No one here can see your computer (unless you let them) - so please give a
decent narrative to describe what you are seeing so they can know how to
choose the next part of the story. ;-)

(Choose your own adventure is easier when you have all the information.)

You can try downloading the full patch (Office XP Service Pack 3) and using
it to do the install. Cannot guarantee it will work - as it may require the
CD for some reason.

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

*Notice* the section titled, "To install SP3 without the original Office XP
CD"...

"When installing SP3, you may be prompted to insert one or more of your
original Office XP CD-ROMs. If you do not have access to your original
Office XP CD-ROM you can install Office XP SP3 Full File Version (58925 KB).
Follow the instructions on the screen to complete installation. Note: Some
users will still be prompted for the original CD when using the Office XP
SP3 Full File Version, depending on your installation of Office XP. For more
information, please see the Microsoft Knowledge Base article, (828451)
OFFXP: Why Service Packs, Updates, and Security Patches May Require the
Office XP CD-ROM. < http://support.microsoft.com/kb/828451 >"

And in case you miss it... Under the Instructions it clearly states:
"OfficeXpSp3-kb832671-fullfile-enu.exe: Download this file if you do not
have access to your installation source or if you experience problems
installing the officeXpSp3-kb832671-client-enu.exe file."

Hope that helps!
