I've googled the following and haven't gotten a satisfactory answer.
What is Ag Core Service? It's in a folder C:\Program Files\AGI.
Is it, I hope, a Windows Vista sp2 service.

Thanks,
James

What else do you find in that same folder?

Asterisk Gateway Interface? (VOIP)

....any additional hints there?

I would'nt have thought any Vista service, if service is what you realy
mean, would install to program files.
If you examine properties of the files does that not reveal anything?

There are the folowing subfolders:
C:\Program Files\AGI\core\3.0\CMS.zip
C:\Program Files\AGI\core\3.0\common.zip
C:\Program Files\AGI\core\3.0\windows.zip

Properties of files and folders tell me nothing ecepth that the folder was
created on June 9, 2009
There are no readme files.

It shows in Services as AGCoreService.

Properties of files and folders tell me nothing except that the folder was
created on June 9, 2009.

It's related to he python programming language. Something is using it since
I got updates to it installed at 7am this morning. There seem to be
references to Visual C++. Baffles me too what program is using it.

I went into services and disabled it. I'll see if any of my programs
complain.

AG Core Services was installed and activated on my computer by Webshots. I use Webshots for my desktop and screen saver. I found that when I disabled AG Core Services my computer crashed (Blue Screen Of Death) repeatedly, with different messages each time, but only when Webshots was running.

I had to uninstall Webshots, reboot, then reinstall the latest version from Webshots website. So far, so good...

By the way, I am running Windows XP Pro w/SP 3, so Vista may behave differently if you disable AG Core Services.

I just accessed my account today at EGreetings.com which I hadn't used for
some time and found that I had to download their desktop search toolbar in
order to send ecards...which was a new request. I do not like unnecessary
tool bars so I decided to uninstall the program with Revo Uninstaller and
found the that the AGI Core 3.0 had been downloaded to my computer as
"C:\Program File\AGI\core\3.0\AGApplicationInstaller.exe." It was downloaded
on this date when I was using E Greetings. I believe it is an application
used by Egreetings for their visuals and apps. I am leaving it for now but
can always disable it at "services" as James did and see what happens.

I am new at this so please check my post on July 4th for my experience with
AG Core. AG Core was added when I downloaded an EGreetings toolbar. So you
might want to check recent downloads for "interactive" type software. I run
Windows XP Pro but it probably is the same with Vista.
