I think IE 7 should be capable of saving what pages and everything you're on
as soon as the browser closes. This of course should be able to be turned
off and on. The advantages would be less chance of one losing all of his/her
progress if the computer crashes/freezes. Accidentally hitting the red "x"
in the top-right corner of the browser. And more.
