Set File Associations for my E:\ Drive!!

Hello All,

I work on a Vista Home Premium system. Here's my problem:

I enable Autoplay from the Control Panel for all types of media and devices.
I insert an audio CD and then Autoplay comes up and I simply ignore it/ close
it.

But then later if i want to check out the files on the CD, i open My
Computer and double click on the Audio CD E:\ Drive. But it won't open and it
prompts me to set associations for the E:drive! I don't think that's possible
as what is expected is for the E:\ to open in Windows Explorer showing the
files present on the CD. So basically E:\ won't work when i double click it.

But Also, i try to work around it by going to My Computer selecting the E:
drive and right clicking it. I then click on explore and only then am i able
to see the files. So what normally should have opened by double clicking, i
get to see only by right clicking and explore.

Please Help.

Hi PS,

I guess the autorun.inf may be pointing to a non-existent file, or trying to "shellexecute" a file.

Click Start, type "notepad e:\autorun.inf " and press ENTER. Copy the contents of the file and post here.

Hi PS,

Ok. It's evident that there is no autorun.inf file in the E:\ drive root.

When you right-click on the E:\ drive in Windows Explorer, what's the default option shown (displayed in Bold letters)?

With a CD (Audio) it is Play, w/o a CD it is Explore.
