How to set logoff for disconnected users

Is there a method, GPO or Registry, that I can set where it will
automatically Logoff (as opposed to remain disconnected) a user that has
locked their session and left for the day or week? I have searched
through the GPeditor and haven't been able to find anything obvious, and
I need to set a Local policy since I do not have rights to affect this
change on a Domain Controller. I have about 15 Domain attached machines
and I frequently have users that will rather than logoff at the end of
the day or their shift, will just lock up the machine which forces the
next shift user to "Switch User" And with the rotating, long duration
shifts that my users work, it is not uncommon for a user that walks away
to remain "disconnected" for 3-5 days. I would really like to set the
machines the Automatically Log Off a users account if they've been
"disconnected" for 12 hours. The Supervisory feeling on this is: If
whatever the user has open on their login is THAT important, then they
should be more Responsible with their computer usage by saving their
documents and then Logging Off before leaving the work area, No
consideration will be given to items lost due to a locked session that
Times Out. Additionally, does anyone know what is preventing
Administrators from being able to Logoff "disconnected" users from the
Task Manager "Users" Tab. Thanks in advance.

How well does this work with Vista 64 Ultimate? I have seen posts that
say this doesn't work with vista. Additionally, is it correct to assume
that this is a Microsoft Product since it is part of the Server 2003
Resource Kit? I am on a very restricted network and the number of 3rd
party software apps on the Approved Products List is very few, this is
why I am looking for a GPO or Registry fix. I have tried to set the time
limits in the "Sessions" tab found in the user account properties in
Active Directory Users and Computers, but this had no affect positive or
negative. I really find it hard to believe that this should be this
difficult to configure.
