How do I create a folder (USERS) with read only to everyone, in USERS folder
have one folder call USER A with change control to User A but no access to
anyone.

C:\USERS\ {Everyone Read only}
C:\USERS\USER A\ {Everyone No Access But User A have Change Contol}

Regards,
TEE

Eng,
simply remove Everyone entry from the ACL of the USER A folder and ensure
that User A appears on the ACL with Modify permissions...

Trying to micro adjust permissions on folders within folders is a real pita.
Better to create a new share at the root level and put the read only
documents in there. Or, use sharepoint /company web.

Please do not cross post like this. We cannot tell if you are using SBS or
not. With SBS the Users folder is a special folder for each user to store
their personal stuff, not a generic share that might be created by a sys
admin.

My advice? Don't do that. Create a separate share if the permissions need to
be different. I don't like shares that have different permissions on
subfolders. It's a nightmare to admistrater.

Hello,
on C:\USERS go to ntfs advanced properties and uncheck the box Not to allow
permission to propagate to subfolders. And click on the everyone tab, drop
down select this Folder only. I will prefer using Authenticated Users
ratherthan everyone
