Setting up ActiveSync after re-installation of Windows

Unfortuately due to problems with my computer, I have had to re-install
Windows XP Professional. Due to this I no longer have a connection
established with my PDA and activesync. What is the easiest way to setup the
partnership again? If I select "I want only to synchronize with only this
computer" (when setting up in the new partnership wizard) it says it will
delete the partnership on the device... Is this going to delete any data on
my PDA? Hopefully this all makes sense.

Thanks,
Barry

Hi

your doing it the correct way, deleting the partnership wont harm your data,
but the next questian is very important it asks you if you want to combine
desktop and device data or use device data or use desktop data... i would
recommend that you connect as a guest and make a backup of the device before
you do anything just to be compleatly sure that you dont mess anything up...

Actually you will only get two options, combine and use desktop data. Unless
you have somehow recovered your desktop data, and it is accurate, your only
reasonable option is to combine. That takes the blank outlook and combines
it with the full outlook on your PPC. That is preferable to overwriting the
data on your PPC with the empty PC Outlook I would suppose.
