Hello John,
Seeing the client over network neighbourhood requires that at least NetBIOS
over TCP/IP is enabled on the NIC properties WINS settings. Additional if
i remember correct you have to enable network discovery on the network and
sharing center on the 2008 server.
The ipconfig should look like this on the DC:
ip 192.168.11.x
sm 255.255.x.x (according to the routers)
dg 192.168.11.1
dns DC ip address (DNS server configured according to the previous article
about FORWARDERS)
XP machine similar as the DC, just a different machine ip address. So the
DC as DNS server NOT the router.
