What are the settings used by bkprunner.exe?

It does not use a .bks file to see what options are in use.

Hi Chen,

Glad to hear from you.

From what you described, I understand that you want to know the setting
used by bkprunner.exe. If I am off base, please let me know.

Based on my research, a backup selection script Small Business Backup
Script.bks is created at %sbsprogramdir%\Backup folder. The script contains
a list of folders and files that are to be backed up and that are to be
excluded from the backup job. If the backup is configured through Server
Management, it calls BKPRUNNER.EXE, which in turn calls NTbackup. Backup
Runner (BKPRUNNER.EXE) automatically passes the backup script, generated on
the fly depending on the registry and file location, to NTBackup
(NTBackup.EXE) to start the backup job. So the actually backup is done by
NTbackup. BKPRUNNER.EXE just passes the script and calls NTBackup, the
script is done by NTBackup.
I would like to give you some more information about backup script files:
A backup selection script contains a list of folders and files that are to
be backed up. The script is located at %sbsprogramdir%\backup folder.

I hope the above information is helpful; if you have any issues or
concerns, please let me know. It's my pleasure to be of further assistance.

Sincerely,

Charles Yang (MFST)

Hi Drik,

Verify can be truned off, if you run NTbackup to excute the backup, /v
means verify in backup. You can edit it in the backup script files. For
more information, I would like to read the Help about backup.

Hope you get the idea.
