Norton unfortunately is a difficult program to remove, follow the info on the
website below:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT...05033108162039
Even after using the tool you may have delete individual files from the
"Programs" folder.
The other progroms use there "Un-install" option or remove using the
uninstall feature in:
Control Panel > Programs & Features > select program & select uninstal.
If a particular program proves to be hard to remove search the web for an
answer
Why you are getting the message depends on which program you where trying to
uninstal at the time, Norton is one that will cause it.
There is nothing really wrong , just as I said some programs are difficult
to remove.--

I had the same problem with Norton, iTunes/QuickTime and Roxio/Sonic. Before
Vista will let you update/install a newer version of a program, all remnants
of the program must be completely removed from your system. Since the Vista
Uninstall feature sometimes does a poor job at this, these remnants often
have to be removed manually. Where there is a proprietary uninstall program
like the Norton Removal Tool, use this tool after running the Vista Uninstall
feature, then proceed to further cleanup as described in the following
tutorial:

Try this program: <http://www.revouninstaller.com/>
Use the REVO uninstaller (fourth/last option). That way you are
certain to scrap all the registry entries -
Also, try in Tools -> Optimization -. Junk Files Cleaner – Scan - Delete

To get rid of Norton.

Download the Norton Removal Tool (SymNRT) to your Desktop.

Once downloaded please close ALL open browsers, also save any work because
this may require a restart.

•Go to your desktop and double click on the removal tool and then click Setup.

•Once open Click Next

•Accept the license agreement and click Next

•Type in the letters/numbers that you see into the text box then click Next.

•Then click Next and the tool will start running.

•Once finished restart the PC.

•Delete Nortonremoval tool from your Desktop
