Hi!

I just purchase a new PC running Windows Vista Ultimate.

I need to share a folder that is on my Vista PC with a laptop running
Windows XP.

I think that my files sharing is okay, but when I go on the XP computer and
map a drive, it can see the Vista PC, but it don't show any folders.

The Vista PC can connect to the network drives on the other PC.

I don't understand why it's not working, and I must admit that is getting
very frustrating.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Have a read of the above link.
Vista's Public folder is XP's shared Docs.
And make sure(besides what is in the above article) that both comps have the
same workgroup name!!!!

Aalso, run XP's home network file and printer sharing wizard.

Hello Mick,

Thanks for your reply.

Finaly I found that the problem was with Windows OneCare.

Now my XP computer can see the folders on the Vista machine, but it can't
write on them. By default, the folder is always set as Read-only.

Vista is so secure that it's almost unusable... ;-)
