SFC, CBS

Have odd problems in Vista e.g. RUN will not store command line history and
comes up blank (but does recall web history).
Then yesterday chunks of my start-up profile went awol including Accessories
(for system restore).
Done sys restore.
Ran SFC which reported some problems unfixable.
However CBS.LOG is access denied (all permissions set to full control!) and
I cannot get it to do a text report.

Can anyone point me in a good direction? Thanks
