SFC fails after recommended updates

Hi
Im running Vista Ultimate x64 Danish (non-SP1) and I keep getting SFC errors
when installing updates.

I reinstalled my system recently, ran a SFC check on first-boot, all cheks
out. Installs network driver (still SFC_OK after reboot) and applies all
updates that are recommended. After reboot SFC fails.

Why is it that updates suggested by the very people who built the OS,
corrupts it? Is the SFC check outdated or is this solved by SP1?

Is there any other 'PowerTools' to check the integrity of my OS?
