Hi,
sorry if this has been asked before, but can't find a reply.
First of all pls note that i'm new to clustering and maybe this is a silly
question.

We have 2 win2003 R2 x64 server in cluster (server name navfin01 and
navfin02, cluster name server-navfin)
Trough the cluster we share 3 directory that are on a SAN, so we have :
\\server-navfin\BK8
\\server-navfin\BK812
\\server-navfin\DLO

to do that we shared the same on the 2 server.
When the active node is restarted, we loose cluster sharing, and we have to
restart "server" service on the new active node, in order to have the shares
active on the cluster.
Due to my understanding cluster shares should always be reachable unitl a
node is active. Am i wrong ?
May be a configuration problem ? Is there something I can check ?

Many thanks in advance
Fabrizio Fiammenghi

Likely a configuration problem. Your Files share resources should have their
own independent network name and disk resources. See the following KB for
more details to ensure your cluster configuration is correct:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/224967/

If this is setup correctly, I would next ask if you are using iSCSI to
connect to your SAN. If so, you should review the following KB:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/870964

John
