Sharing Folders Error

During the last few days i am getting prompts from my contacts asking me if
i want to share folders, (i already have shared folders with these people).
When i click yes a dialog box appears saying The sharing action could not be
completed due to an error and nothing happens.

Any ideas?

They are definitely NTFS, as i have been sharing folders with them before

I am having the same problem for some reason I am unable to share folders. Keep receiveng the message( The sharing action could not be completed due to an error) can anyone help?

Greetings Iain,

The real error message is probably in the event log. To see, click Start, then Run (ignore
this step if on Vista), type "eventvwr.msc" and press Enter. Click the Application log
(it'll be under Windows Logs if you're using Vista) and see if there's any recent error
events. Although I'm not 100% certain, the source will probably be "ESENT".

Additionally, what version of Windows are you using and version of Windows Live Messenger?
