Hi
I notice that vista has made some shortcut folders as placeholder
fo
previous XP folders. For instance
C:/Application Dat
If I look at the properties for that shortcut, it is type folder wit
no target
That all makes sense

But I see another shortcut at
C:/ProgramData/Application Dat
That shortcut is type folder, but it has a target of "C:/Program Data
And, when opening that shortcut you get into an endless loop. :-
And causes my script to endlessly drill down
This is a 1 month old vista home laptop
I believe it should be a shortcut with type folder and no target
Is that correct
How can I fix this

thanks
gordo

See these links. The second one will explain your loop.

GTS
Thanks for the pointers to junction definition
I still see a problem with C:/ProgramData/Application Dat
1. The other junctions in C:/ProgramData are owned by N
Authority\Syste
The C:/ProgramData/Application Data is owned by BUILTIN\Administrator
You can see that in the attached png
2. The other junctions in C:/ProgramData all point to non recursiv
folders
3. The time stamp on C:/ProgramData/Application Data is 08/05/09 whic
is the da
I bought this laptop

Can you please check the ownership of your C:/ProgramData/Applicatio
Dat
I only have the one Vista machine

thanks

My system shows a difference in ownership. Interesting.

D:\ProgramData>dir /q /as
Directory of D:\ProgramData

11/02/2006 09:00 AM <JUNCTION> NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Application
Data [D:\ProgramData]
