Shortcut Icons, names

How do I eliminate the text under the desktop shortcut icons in Windows
Vista? The beautiful icon is enough to identify the icon. Thanks.

Simply click twice on the name under the icon it will highlight, then hit
backspace to delete the name.

I don't know...I appreciate your prompt answer, but am I missing something?
That doesn't seem to work. It highlights alright, and when I hit backspace it
disappears, but just as soon as I hit anything else it comes back...

I don't think you're missing anything. It doesn't work for me,
either.
