Shortcuts not working - no right click Vista Home Premium

All of my shortcuts stopped working. I cannot use the HELP instructions
because I can't right click on any of them!!! Also I cannot delete and
create new shortcuts. Need help asap! Thanks!
I found postings of this problem but no response.

Is this the only way? I'm not sure I have a system restore.

I'm sorry I spoke too soon. Did some checking into how system restore
works. I now have my icons back!!!! Thank you!
