I just found an Firefox icon on my Desktop that is pointing to one of my
online Retirement Accounts that I did not create and have ideas how it got
there. If I click it, it brings me to my Fidelity logon screen were it is
waiting for me to enter a password.

Of course I suspect fowl play but how can I verify Who/What/Why is got there
and make sure it gets totally removed.?

Run a virus scan with your anti-virus. See if it picks anything up.

Kill the chickens, hens, roosters and turkeys if you want to stop any
"fowl" play.

Seriously, reinstall Windows if you want to be totally sure your
computer is clean.

I suspect it's more likely that you accidentally "dragged" the address from
the address bar or bookmarks of Firefox on to your desktop thereby creating
a shortcut.

Check the shortcut properties and make sure it does actually direct to the
genuine login page and not to some sort of spoof or "phishing" log in page.

Personally I'd just delete it and move on.

I agree with Tim.

Have a good spyware detector, like MBAM or Spybot Search and Destroy
and update and run these program on a regular basis. Saga
