How can I sign into Windows Live Messenger and appear offline immediately.
I've gone to the tools - options but there is nowhere that says sign in
invisible or appear offline on sign in. This is a new computer with Windows
Live already installed.
Thanks,
M. Ang

Hello -

The way I do this would be to sign off of messenger and go back to the sign
on screen. There you can choose whatever status you want to appear as at
login.

There are probably other ways to do this but this is the only one I am aware
of currently.

Thanks,

Greetings,

Just sign out (right-click the Messenger icon in the notification area near the clock and
choose Sign Out), then double click the Messenger icon and choose to sign in as Appear
Offline. After signing in it will remember this for later sessions.
