Hi everyone! This is the thread where you get to chat about new features.
Please take a look at the posting on the MessengerSays blog site at:
http://messengersays.spaces.live.com...9E!25283.entry
for more information.

We're hoping you're as excited as we are about the potential for the next
generation of Windows Live Messenger. And again, the disclaimer: This is
not a guarantee that these features *WILL* be worked on or implemented, but
it's important for us to know your thoughts.

Thank you, one and all, for being a part of this amazing Windows Live
Messenger community. Let the conversation begin!

I'd like three things:

1) for messenger to work correctly and not keep missing messages out or
bouncing them back,

2) be able to set your own away message i.e. gone to town, on the loo etc.

3) be able to sort the custom emoticon menu alphabetically.

-Show what verison of Messenger your contacts are using.
-Show what version of Windows your contacts are using.
-Show how long my contacts have been online.
-Show how long my contacts have been idle.
-Sort the contact horizontally as well as vertical.
-Ability to open the options box by right clicking on the messenger icon in
the system tray.
-An option to allow me to get offline IMs even if I have the user blocked.
-Option to show when a blocked user has signed in
-Option to show when any user has signed out.
-Build WLM with WPF
-Option to show new mail right in messenger without the need to open a
browser.
-When the user has OneCare installed show the status of OC (Green, yellow,
red), also allow other av programs to show their icon and status
-Allow me to store my saved messages online so I can recieve them from
another computer.
-Ability to sort my group names in any order.
-When a contact adds me to his/her list I would like to be able to tell it
which group to add the contact to (if I have groups setup).

You really should have made it clear that you work for Microsoft on the
Messenger team, I had to look at the headers to find your @microsoft.com
email address to see if you are a user, or an employee on the team..
