How to show the volume in the notification icon area

Can anybody tell me how to show the volume in the notification icon area?

The specifics may vary depending upon the capabilities and settings of
your specific audio controller, but in general, you'd do it via Control
Panel > Sounds > "Show Volume Control in Notification Area."

I tried deleting the registry value and rebooting, but still no luck.

I finally got it. After taking out the registry entry and re-booting, I
still had to right click on the bar and enabling it in the Notification
Area.
