I have just started to have problems with shutting down my computer. After
clicking on shutdown a dark screen comes up, there is a square with several
colours in it and Form 1 written under it. The screen also tells me that I
still have a programme running (but I don't) I can shut down from this page
and that's what I have been doing. How do I get rid of this problem please.
If someone can help perhaps they may also be able to tell me why this has
happen in the first place. Thanks

Close all programmes. Press Ctrl alt del. Click on start task manager. Have
a good look round.

The screen you are seeing is Windows telling you that there are one o
more programs that are interfering with the shutdown process

You need to identify which program that is, and then use MSCONFIG t
prevent it from running (if it is a startup program). Before yo
shutdown, do you have any windows open that have a title of "Form1"
This genric title is used for the default form in Codegear Delph
applications, and it's the developers choice to change it

The fact that you are getting this genric title for this applicatio
means that the developer was sloppy by not changing the form title t
something meaningful. This does not bode well for the remainder of th
application. Unless, of course, its intention is to cause problems...

You **DO** have something running - even though you may not have actively
started it. Think malware!

Find out what it is and uninstall/eliminate the offending program. It could
be in the form of a service or process also.
