Shutdown Problem

I have an Dell tower with a pentium 4 duel in it, after a clean install of XP
PRO, and SP3 all working good till critical updates, one of them has stopped
my machine from shuting down all the way, won't restart or shut down unless I
hold the power button for 5 seconds, everything else works fine. I would
like to know if there is a fix or if someone knows wich critical update I
need to remove.

With whom is your Pentium 4 fighting?

Have you uninstalled the recently installed updates one-by-one and rebooted
between each (twice) removal to see which one was the problem for you?

Control Panel --> Add or Remove Programs --> "Show Updates" checked -->
scroll down and find the most recent updates and remove them.

Hopefully you did not update any hardware device drivers from Microsoft
(unless you happen to have Microsoft hardware...)
