Shutdown or Sleep mode?

HP Desktop, Vista Home Premium 32 bit, running fine since April 2007. I
generally leave the computer in Sleep mode and just reboot once every other
week or so. So far, I've received updates good. No problems.
But, I expect to be away from the computer for 3 to 4 weeks. While I'm
gone, should I use the Sleep mode or Shutdown? I haven't yet received
SP-1. I'm strictly a "User" not a Guru! Thanks for any advice. bobg

You should shut your pc down if you're gon' be out for 3 to 4 weeks...see I
think you're spendin too much energy that way you explained,and there's no
need for that because we just can't use the pc once and then after one hour
turn it on again...on this situation we'd better leave at the sleep
mode..however if you won't use the pc again after 2 hours above,just shut it
down
