Sick of .Net Updates

I have had this problem twice since July. I uninstalled .NET 2.0. Rebooted.
Go to Windows Update and the program should be there for you to reinstall.
Reboot again after installing. Go back to Windows Update and the Security
Updates should show that they haven't been either downloaded or installed (in
my case they had been downloaded, but would not intall). Reinstall updates.
Reboot PC yet again. This constant rebooting seems to be important.
