Sick of Vista Bashing!

I am sick of this.

Everyone bashing Vista, go to Amazon.com and look at the user reviews of XP
in 2005. They are still there. One person opines that XP is worthless and
he is returning to reliable ME!!!!!

This is just amazing. I can believe it. I've known for some time that Vista
bashers are either crooks with ulterior motives or whiners who have trouble
across the whole range of problems (perhaps simply depressed) or Vista just
over their head intellectually.

Could you provide a link please.

I was actually late in my switching from Win2K to XP which I regret now
bitterly. My idea was however just opposite. For some reason I believed that
more picturesque environment in XP was not that professional and I with my
high demand for computations and data crunching would be in trouble. I
realized 3 years into XP era that I was wrong, that XP was much more
superior and I had to switch in a hurry. I caught Vista 6 months after its
RTM and for Vienna I will do Beta I from day one.

You would hope that with so many talented people, so much money and
experience in releasing bad operating systems, Microsoft will finally
be able to make a first solid release.
VISTA was a huge disappointment to say the least. VISTA will be
replaced by Windows 7 (2010), Microsoft has completely revamped their OS team to bring it out, which will use a
new memory model. Do you still think people are bashing it? It is simply a bad, cheap
attempt to clone MAC OS, and by the way, Leopard is not much better.
Vista is incompatible with many things that are running on XP, which
was made by the same company, it has significant networking issues,
hardware issues, software issues, third party software issues. In
short, it did not live up to it's hype. Just read the post in this
forum..

Read my reply above. A good OS is the one that works for you best.
Reading the posts in this NG presents a different case.

I maintain and use ~200 machines with ME, W2K, XP and Linux.
Don't ask me about the AS-400/800s, I might go postal!
I have a couple of Vista machines at home (out of 14), but refuse to add any
to my LAN.
I have yet to see any compelling reason to do so.
People can say 'improved security' all year, but I don't see it.
All I see is annoyance to the users.
I was hoping MS would get it right with Vista, but I was sadly disappointed
throughout Beta and into RTM.
Even SP1 isn't much of an improvement.
MS didn't listen to my input, they knew what they wanted and pushed it out
as they wanted it...too bad they were looking in the rearview mirror instead
of out the windshield.
I advise people to suffer through it if they must get a new machine,
otherwise stick with what is currently working for them!
And yes, I have done many upgrades/repairs on XP machines, to extend their
life, instead of recommending new systems with this thing they call Vista
installed.
I can make Vista work, but WHY?

Sure there were few people who thought xp had problems...
but they were an insignificant minority. Back then when I came across a few
(yes ONLY a few) people that said that, I looked at them as if they were
aliens from another planet. They had no idea what they were talking about.
But vista is a totally different story.

with Vista the vast MAJORITY and BUSINESSES are avoiding vista like the
plague.

Its not anyone's fault for the bashing but Vista itself.

All MS had to do was make a VERY GOOD OS that most people in the world would
love.

It was within their capabilities but they blundered badly.

You cant expect all the world to just sit and take it from the rear... and
say, it hurts but I like it.

You are probably a black Muslim communist descended from the Mayans, who is
sick and broke.

And you hate yourself. That's why you hate everyone else.

MORON! I have never seen a more STUPID person than you on Usenet, you are
even worse than FRANK!

In the last year, only 39 percent of the new computers were shipped with
Vista pre-installed, while back in 2002 Windows XP was credited with a
market share of 67 percent in the new computer sales.

Oops.

Comparing XP to Me is absurd.

Thanks for the Sunday morning smile, "Not Me".

People with your background and experience - and there are many who post
here - are the ones that we neophytes should pay attention to concerning
operating systems and hardware.

Enjoyed your post.
