Sidebar color

Is there anyway to change the sidebar color? Something I hit changed it to
white, and the outlook icon in the task bar is hard to see now. I have read
all the tutorials on sidebar gadgets, but none discuss the color.

The Color of the Sidebar is normally affected by the color theme you choose
from Windows Color and Appearance (Personalize) if you have Windows Aero
Glass theme enabled.

I wish the shadow effect weren't so dark.

I personally wanted the transparency with frame when hovered when the
Sidebar is set to be on top.
