Sidebar expansion closes

My sidebar has several gadgets that use an expansion (i.e. when you click on
the RSS reader to view the whole story and a small window opens up to display
the story) the problem is the expansions close after a certain amount of time
and I can never finish reading the content of them. Does anyone know why
these close?

Like how long after it closes?

It seems to be around 3-8 seconds, it isn't constant
