sidebar gadet wont install

hello all i have vista ultimate and have found it used to let me install new
gadgets.
well now it wont after a month or 2 it now has decided it wont let me Any
help would be greatefull

Have you exited the Sidebar, restart it then try again? Also, is this
happening with a specific or multiple gadgets? Can you install the Gadget on
another account on the system?

i dont have accounts as its just me on the computer
i have exited the side bar and restarted it yes
it happens with all gadgets,

i download them from microsoft and go to install them but when i do they
just dint install.

i dont know what may of caused it but i have downloaded games and a bit
torrent programme but i cant see how they would stop it !

Try the following, it might be a virus, run full scan of your system, run
another scan in safe mode. Also do this:

Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories and right-click
on the Command Prompt and choose "Run as administrator".
Type in: SFC /SCANNOW and press your Enter key.

This should replace/repair any corrupted files.

After that try adding gadgets again.

ok done that and this is what it said

98% complete windows resource protection found corrupt files but was unable
to fix some of them

details are included in the cbs.log windr\logs\CBS\CBS.log
for example C;\windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

so what does that bit mean ?

Try repairing your system. Boot from your Windows
Vista DVD, select the System Repair Option > on the setup screen, select
'Repair Computer > Select your installation of Windows > select Startup
Repair option and follow instructions.
