Sidebar problem

I just upgraded? from XP and I like the sidebar. The problem is that I
can't load any gadgets that I download using the "get more gadgets
online". When I try and run the gadget, the sidebar goes dark (very
quickly) and then back to normal, but the new gadget isn't installed. I
have made sure that the Windows Sidebar is the default program for
gadgets, but nothing seems to work. What am I missing?

The Get More Gadgets link simply goes to a website where you can download
the gadgets and install them.

I wondered if I was specific enough, sorry. I have downloaded several
gadgets from the
http://vista.gallery.microsoft.com/v...aspx?mkt=en-us link.
After I get them downloaded and try to install ... that's where I run
aground. It acts like it wants to install it, but it doesn't actually
install it.
