I have Vista Premium PC(PC1) on home network with XP Pro PC(PC2). I used my
ISP email to setup Vista originally. I later tried to change to hotmail and
somehow (because of preinstalled Google Toolbar and Desktop) at some point
profile became corrupted which I did not figure out until recently. Also,
original sign in info no longer existed because I was using hotmail account.
To try to fix, I recreated credentials in Vista for original email address
and deleted old Google Account. So far Vista PC seems happy. I still need
a hotmail account however to access some features in a couple of programs.
Can I just select the create new account option when I go to sign into Vista
MSN pages and then just put in hotmail account as secondary on Google? Do I
need to go into all other programs and change my email address to hotmail (I
still use my ISP email in Vista Mail), or can I just put the hotmail address
in for the couple of programs that require it? Also, do I need a hotmail
address in Vista to access all media center features or for Office 2007
Student and Teacher? I have become really confused with so many different
sign in names, Display Names, Nick Names etc. I guess the question is
whether I can use both email addresses or are they mutually exclusive?

You don't need a Hotmail address to sign into Vista.
You either log straight in, or via a Password that you create in your User
Account.

You need Hotmail address to sign into MSN Messenger.
Also, if you have joined into different web based Programs, say Facebook,
that is where you may have listed your hotmail address for mail notification,
and verification.

What is the problem with Officwe 2007?
You have to have a Product Key to install it; and if it was only a Trail
version, you have to buy it.

You use your ISP's supplied username and password to set up your Windows Mail.
You use your Hotmail Account through hotmail, or MSN Live Messenger.
