Hi, I was using the latest Windows Live Messenger (WLM) without any problem;
however, since yesterday, November 13, I cannot sign in into it. I have
tried almost everything including uninstalling - installing the program,
unfortunately nothing seems to work. I have a notebook which also have the
same version of WLM and it is working ok. I really need my messenger, could
you please help me? Thanks.

I have the same issue. Since yesterday, 14:th of November my Windows Live
Messenger doesn't log in.

I have tried to log in with the old Windows Messenger that is integrated
with Windows XP and it works perfectly. But when I try to log in with WLM
(Windows Live Messenger) the program just keeps working with the WLM logo
turning but no list logging in.

When I am logged in with the old version and then hit "Sign In" with the new
WLM the old one tells me that I have signed in at another place, BUT WLM
doesn't load my list or sign me in. It just sits there chewing on the sign in
phase.

How can I fix this?

(I have tried repairing, uninstalling/reinstalling, checking firewall and so
on).

Thanks a bunch for any feedback
/P

Greetings,

Although this shouldn't be an issue anymore, try shutting down Messenger entirely by
right-clicking on its icon in the notification area and choosing Exit, then download and run
this .reg file:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/dow...lmpolicies.reg

Then try signing in again.

Thanks Jonathan, it worked perfectly.

I don't know how this could have happened, it was a weird thing.

But it works perfectly now thanks to you.

Best regards
Pouya

Erm.. i still face the same problem eventhough i ran that .reg. When I login
through windows messenger it's working fine. and another thing is that i can
login another account with WLM but not with my own account.. that's what i'm
feeling weird of.

Hello Jonathan,

Thanks for your response.

I downloaded and executed the file you posted; unfortunately it did not
work. Technically, I am able to sign in; however, I cannot use WLM at all, as
soon as I "log in" the system crash and get stuck... a few minutes later WLM
disconnects me and then tries to automatically reconnect; immediately WLM
reconnects the cycle stars again and again, that is: “logs in”, looses
connection, gets stuck, -few minutes- “logs in”… etc,.

As I wrote in my first message, WLM was working ok, this problem starts
suddenly and without any significant change in my PC… could you please advise
me on this issue?

Sincerely,

JEGS

Thanks!

I wasn't able to login all day today. WLM would just sit at "Signing in..."
screen. I rebooted, repaired, reinstalled, without success till I found and
ran your reg file.
