hi

running vista home prem, i had the same problem here with xp on msn 6, if i
sign in to live messenger, it connects and shows contacts, then within a
minute, the internet connection drops and i have to go and reboot router.
Ive turned uPNP off and on but thats all i know about routers. Has anyone
got any ideas? Its a D link router...

Hi mattym,

Unfortunately, I had that exact same problem. It turned out that the
Date and Time on the Router was incorrect and caused me the problems. All I
did, was to make sure that the Date and Time on the Router and Computer
matches each other. I Enabled the NTP Server and picked the Server to use as
well as using the Time Configuration, telling it what Time Zone you are in
as well as Daylight Savings configuration as well. Time is important to the
Messenger programs.
