You can use an existing address (i.e. not
or
) as a Live identity. Before WLMessenger can use
your personal address to sign in, you must register the address
as a passport via the Windows Live website.
Open your web browser and navigate to
http://login.live.com.
Click on "Sign up for an account". Select "Yes, use my email
address" - and click on continue.
On the next page, enter details of your existing email address.
You must also select a password for use with the Live identity
(which can be different from the password you use for emails with
your existing mail provider).
Microsoft Live will send an email to your personal email address.
You must respond, to confirm that you are the owner of that
address.
Having registered your existing address as a Live identity, you
should be able to use it to sign in with WLMessenger.
