I can sign in programs but when I re-boot I have to sign in again. I an
using XPpro/SP3/IE8

I have tried Internet Options/Privacy/Advanced and enabled override
but still get the same problem

You have to sign-in to use a program?

Perhaps you mean that there are certain websites that require you to
sign-in to view their content?

Sign-in credentials are normally stored in cookies. Check your cookie
settings. Also check whether your security software is erasing cookies.
